Cool Space shit

Interesting to think that in the future when space flight has become the norm that history will look back on this little capsule as the moment space opened up to the rest of the world instead of a select few governments

You ever been to one of those wrap around spherical IMAX's? Usually have them in Museums in big cities, went to one in Toronto and they played something similar in 3D was immense with the concert speakers going wild... wish to fuck someone would buy the Belfast IMAX and reopen it ffs

0 |

No, never been to one! Would love to though! Didn't know Belfast used to have one. Where was it?

0 |

We don't have anything remotely resembling a spherical imax, our closest would be the Armagh Planetarium which is ahem not as good... Was talking about the IMAX in the Odysessy, would love to watch Prometheus on it

0 |

So the one in Odyssey is closed?? Prometheus on a huge screen would be ridiculously good!

0 |

I'm literally frothing at the teeth to get watching Prometheus! Can't wait for it :)

0 |

You may need to get a dentist on that ryan.

0 |

Same here Ryan... have watched the trailer about 5 times and still cream the trunks each time.

0 |

Imagine what it would be like on imax and in 3D... Bastard small city

0 |

Saw the ISS the other night. Mind bending to think there's people on it.

Fantastic clips of the ISS set to the soundtrack of Sunshine

0 |

You'd probably open up more markets and hence sell more of it
.
Aye the sunshine soundtrack really makes that clip

0 |

Not necessarily, if there is more about we would probably use more. Depends on how much it costs to be mined and shipped back to earth, doubt its cheap.

0 |

Surely if they mined platinum in space and brought it to earth it would devalue platinum as the only reason for its price is its scarcity?

That's a great video RJ, one of the best I've seen actually!

This one is worth a look. Lightening captured at 7,207 images per second. Shows exactly how it works :)

Anyone watch the mars landing live? Was pretty exciting. Expect lots of pictures of dusty landscapes for the next 2 years.

0 |

fingers crossed it actually finds something other than rock and more rock with a side order of rock

0 |

brillaint wee scrollable animation from Nasa on the moments before touchdown.. the more you think about it the more you appreciate just how fucking super smart those guys at nasa are to have pulled this off

0 |

and heres the link mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/...

Fantastic stuff goes on at NASA. Whats even more amazing was the simplistic technology they used during the space race and managed to launch Voyager Sats, moon landings. Some very smart chaps over there. Cool wee animation RJ.

hopefully with all the onboard gear that this thing is packing we get some cool new facts about the planet alongwith fantastic photos but by god id love it to pick up a scurrying beetle or somit

Some achievement alrite. Looking forward to seeing high res images and seeing this rover working.
