Barking Dog - UnfuckinReal

0 |

try coco my mate took it over from rankin (linenhall street), not for the tight arses but worth the extra, food/service is excellent

0 |

I was in Coco just after it opened and it was great but heard it had gone down hill.

Barking Dog, La Bastille and Shu are consistently great, although Barking Dog seriously need to update their menu.

Heading to Sole Seafood in a few weeks for the first time. Looking forward to it. Bring your own too.

desus u struggle to get a table on the weekends so it must be maintaining demand tho granted i personally havnt eaten there in a while so im in no position to comment these days other than what iv said, those 1 s u mentioned i agree with except sole seafood i havnt tried it as not a fish fan, would love to try tedfords some day i hear its good but very dear, also the porterhouse steak place is next on my list for a steak

coco was good for me a christmas. heading next friday as well before spiritualized.

potted hen recently was a bit of a let down, food was pretty good, but certainly not as good as coco, and more expensive.

0 |

For cod and ulster, fine establishment that it is

0 |

My eating out days arent waht they used to be. But Cayenne is probably the best in town and The Potted Hen is pretty good too

0 |

Cayenne's chocolate fondant. Sweet fucking baby jesus.

0 |

Coco is great.. been a couple of times lately and been perfect. Not far off Shu.

My fave eating places in Belfast...

Shu
Tao (for big groups or on a budget)
Coco
AMPM

0 |

Haven't been to Cayenne in ages, so can't really comment, though I never hear anything negative about it and have friends who would go quite regularly.

0 |

went to drennans there a wee while ago - average

0 |

i can second that recommendation of lamb madras from the jharna

0 |

Bastille is great, or for something cheaper l'etoile. I see Legends on the Lisburn Road has closed down, it was good for parties and light on the wallet.

0 |

Never set foot in Legends, how could you when the Jharna was feet away?

0 |

Never really been a fan of indian food, or possibly have yet to try good indian food? Jharna good you say?

0 |

Outstanding. Mixed tandoori to start and lamb madras for main. Hard to bate.

0 |

I'm not a huge fan of Indian either... I can take it or leave it. Cafe Naz is meant to be good for Indian take aways though... I've enjoyed the stuff I've got from there though I wouldn't be a big Indian eater so prob not the best for judging.

Forgot about Bastille and L'etoile. Both are pretty good, though wouldn't be one of my first choices... Found the atmosphere in Bastille a little too refined or something the time I was in... kinda felt a bit too quiet.

Has anyone else been to Jimmy Browns?? A fairly cheap place which is also bring your own.. have had a couple of really enjoyable meals in there, so worth a try if that's what you're after some time.

0 |

Must try somewhere new. I'm thinking jharna or shu

0 |

Indian:

Bengal
Lolita
Cafe Naz
Ruchi is back on form for takeaway

0 |

Didn't think much of Bengal meself, although did go to the Lisburn Road one which went bankrupt not so long ago.

0 |

sorry

Bengal (Ormeau)

0 |

Really like Indie Spice, but I've tried everything in there I want to try.

34. MURGH BAKHAR-WALA+++Cooked with fresh green chillies, coriander and red hot whole chillies, hot - tasty - tangy

The above is outstanding. Comes with massive fresh, still in shell butterflied king prawns.

Good to hear Ruchi is back up to scratch on the takeaway front too.

Cafe Naz was really nice the one time I was there. Really relaxed atmosphere to it.

0 |

Love Indie and yeah the prawns are outsatnding.

Just had a KFC there it was beaut

0 |

None mentioned Boojum yet?

NOMZ

0 |

Ladies and Gentlemen, take your sides.

0 |

Gaze on ormeau for a chinkeroony

0 |

TF, what is it about Boojum that makes you love it so??

0 |

It must be the blandness of it all that appeals.

0 |

lol

0 |

Anyone recommend any really good bargains? Darcy's does a meal for £7 before 7pm and the food in there is pretty damn good for what you're paying. Just wish there was more places doing something similar.

0 |

Boojum is only bland if you approach it like a froot. Hottest sauce going when they're making it and apply more hot sauce with every bite. Simple.

I was in it the other week and had two consecutive burritos I was the hungry. Two boojums. Twoojums.

0 |

I see Mex Burrito is open today beside Argento... I bet it stinks.

0 |

U had 2 burrito's?? stfu. i can barely finish one

0 |

See the wheaten loaf jokes. DONE! I've been well and truly trumped by Mmurray Two Burritos!

0 |

The girl behind the counter said, "you must be hungry", I just gave her my best Clint Eastwood dead eye stare.

0 |

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The appeal of Boojum is that its fresh, healthy, tasty, costs £5 and will fill you up.

And yes hottest sauce required.

0 |

I should add that I was the big man then, but the skites near broke me.

0 |

boy vs food

0 |

I've had better Sundays. Every fart was a gamble.

0 |

that claudines place in botanic where dukes was does a decent 2x starters and 2xmains + a bottle of wine for 30 nicker, to be fair the place looks like a tim burton nightmare and the front of house is a bit lacking but its d's a good deal

0 |

lol @ the dead eye stare

0 |

My girl worked there and hated everything in there, as a result I are a boojum every day for 2 Weeks before my intestines tried a Gerry Kelly into the bog one afternoon

0 |

I went to a place in San Francisco called "Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem" (deep in the heart of hipstervillie) which had some delicious food (including incredible Sweet Potato Tatchos - nachos made with tater tots) but they had some 1 million Scoville unit Death chillis that you could add to pretty much anything, if you signed a waiver. I didn't try. Hottest I've ever gone has been Habanero and that crosses the pain/tastiness boundary for me.

0 |

lol @ 'looks like a tim burton nightmare'

0 |

The bottles of green sauce is frickin amazing. *schedules Boojum for 4.15*

0 |

That's the place you always suggest to go for a munch isn't it Bri?? I've always wanted to be in a Tim Burton nightmare... you should have sold it to me that way!
