Haven't seen it but couldn't help but read this thread. Will come back again tomorrow after I've seen it. Thxbye xo

Changed the title so spoilers is more clear. Michael Caine steals this movie for me. Really great performance.

Great show, saw it last night, i think Tom Hardys traps may get a nod from the academy for best supporting actor

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Last scene. Is Alfred halucinating/fantasising? I choose to believe yes.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Batman's dead!

I honestly thought that Tom Hardy was wasted in this role. Could've been anyone behind the mask. He added nothing to it.

he was exceptional in Warrior.

0 |

I think they could've left the last scene with just a nod from Alfred, would've been a more ambiguous ending.

0 |

if alfred is halucinating why would he picture him with Catwoman, when he would have had no inclination of their romance, seeing as he had been told to do one by Bruce Wayne at the time?

0 |

Wasn't Alfred all like "Dude, you should fucking nail that bitch!"?

0 |

But in the closing scenes, fox discovers Bruce had fixed the autopilot... leaving it open for the Dark Knight Returns in a decade or too

0 |

Alfred didn't know her, he was bigging up Miranda Tate.

0 |

Honestly reckon we're more likely to get a Robin/Nightwing movie.

0 |

i think Alfred just wanted him to have the horn for anyone that wasnt that dead bird that didnt want to be with him anyway...knew that yer woman was up to something but only worked it out just before she got the knife out

0 |

Enjoyed the movie... but it seemed a bit rushed in places... could have split it in two and developed each Hal of the movie more.

The first half ending with Bane breaking Batman, thurs second half the retaking of Gotham

0 |

This, Batman lives. The next film explores how Robin struggles to fight crime without billions in his bank account. Tom Hardy wasn't wasted, he was picked for his ability to communicate so much through his eyes...that he he has no qualms banging the steroids.

0 |

and no training... Really disliked Robins inclusion in the film. He's pretty much shown to faff about for 6months resulting in not being able to save a single child or cop. Plus Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a little bitch.

lived up to all expectations, the best films leave you begging for more. Nolan does it again. Can't wait to see what he does next.

0 |

the opening scene in the plane was amazing

This. Surpassed my expectations. Amazing conclusion to the trilogy.

Michael Caine near had me in tears ffs.

0 |

Great show. Definitely think they've left him as being alive too. I actually liked the Robin character. The breaking the bat scene was superb too.

0 |

Nolan's original movies are head and shoulders above the Batman trilogy. Hope he gets back to writing his own stuff.

0 |

IMHO the batman trilogy surpasses everything. Even Anal!

0 |

I didn't see the Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul thing coming at all. Thinking back though there are hints galore, she talks to Bruce at that charity do about him investing half his fortune in a project "to restore balance to the world" which is pretty much a direct lift from Ra's al Ghul in Begins.

0 |

The best trilogy made in my lifetime, easy. Watched Begins again over the weekend, think Nolan's had a very clear picture what he wanted to do from the very beginning.

Alarms bells should have went off at Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul, crazy French girl from Inception but I didn't see it coming at all.

0 |

didnt see the mirana thing coming at all

totally missed the thing about him fixing the auto-pilot though. when did this happen?

0 |

the film wouldve been better if he had died in the end i think

0 |

Great show and awesome trilogy...also massively overrated. My one gripe was why no tidal wave after the atomic bomb went off at sea?

8/10 for the trilogy

0 |

He definately didn't have clear idea how to end it. First Half of the film very enjoyable, second half was terrible and riddled with shit IMO. But I've never been a fan of nolans films.

0 |

" My one gripe was why no tidal wave after the atomic bomb went off at sea?"

I hate that sort of attitude to movies. I know a guy that refuses to go see it because he insists that Bruce Wayne shouldn't be so run down and 'crippled' as he was only Batman for 2 years.

0 |

Was disappointed to be honest. That said in gOnna have to watch all three again to start taking a proper view of the in context.

My main problem Isn't with tdkr, but that the tdk is stylistically so disimilar with the films either side. Tdk is so gritty and the joker is nearly believable as a real life mentalist that the other two actually seem like comics by comparison.

0 |

How rushed was the end haha...bane went out without a fight which was disappointing

0 |

haha

yeah that is really daft. its a comic book adaptation ffs, not a biography

brilliant movie though

0 |

Heaven forbid a comic book adaption would feel like a comic book in parts.

0 |

Wayne its a valid looking point but...for all the realizm in the movie i lol'd at that bit

0 |

Bane and Batman beat the fuck out of each other at the end. Bane was taking chunks out of pillars at one point. Batman got stabbed then Bane got blasted by the gun on the bike that cleared a tunnel full of cars and debris. Bane also took over Gotham btw. Hardly without a fight!?!?

How the fuck do you miss an entire scene that is based round Fox discovering that the auto pilot was activated months prior to the detonation??

What movie are you utter spastics watching??

0 |

my main criticism of it is the same criticism as the dark knight. its a batman movie, nearly 3 hours long, and batman is hardly in it. he must have been in tdkr as batman for half an hour max. its a batman movie, i want to see batman fuck shit up.

0 |

haha

can only remember him saying the auto pilot didnt work

0 |

Yeah but it was the shit fight..and the bane tears an all. I agree that the first half of the film was more enjoyable than the end. Personally i felt no tension in the last scenes

0 |

Troll

0 |

Fuck me at some of the criticism in this thread, award winning stuff.

0 |

TROLL ALERT BTW

0 |

Why would there be a tidal wave? If the bomb had been dropped in the sea the initial displacement of water would have been in all directions... only a small part would have been directed towards Gotham.

But after detonation and the vacuum caused by the displacement would have drawn much of the displaced water back to ground 0.

Also neutron bomb release mire of their energy as radiation rather than heat energy... so the minut of bomb generated displacement would be smaller than that of a conventional thermonuclear weapon

0 |

Aye the last scenes were tension free right enough. :|

0 |

actually, come to think of it, was this not tested out during war times to see if they could use bombs to create tidal waves as a weapon and they failed dramatically??

definitely remember watching a programme about this sort of stuff recently

0 |

You're not gonna get a tidal wave from an airburst, it would need to be underwater surely.

0 |

Bless me ... I take it back..flawless film

how's that foe ya..batfaggots

0 |

There's plenty of comic book movies that are like comic books, but this wasn't consistent. And the inconsistent part of it (tdk) was arguably the best. It doesn't even thread together the league of shadows story line well because of this, other than they are the trilogy's main antagonists and batman is having a whinge at home.

0 |

didn't realise that there was some anime in between BB & TDK, approved by Nolan, some written by contributors to the trilogy. Must check it out.

0 |

And I'm a junior doctor btw so I know a thing.

0 |

Well wars, if your going to smugly LOL to your self in the cinema, best not to look like an apeman, coo-coo, co-choo

0 |

Did BW just go to that restaurant in Florence every day until Alfred turned up?
