cheers utah, we actually were set to go there at easter and our mates pulled out, its landlocked thou and id say we will be looking for a beach, i definatley want to head to budapest sometime this year, but thanks for the recomendation!

Iceland is cheap, but to be honest apart from shopping for food and poking fun at the underclasses there's not much to do.

0 |

There's plenty to see if you tour the country. Glaciers, volcanoes, I was there for ten days and it was Brilliant.

another fine shout S, we had looked at going to iceland to do this in the last week of august but the bro is expecting a baby so have to be around.

Barcelona for 3 days - Berlin for 4 days - back to Dublin - bus or lift up the road. I'd try that.

Holiday insurance to US? Just gonna hit compare the market here now and go with the best on there.

There is a massive lake type resort somewhere near Budapest that has beaches I think.

0 |

Lake Balaton?

0 |

didnt know this, will suss it out here!

ive been to Split in croatia, has a beach, bit like a mini Monaco, was really nice but i wouldnt go back in a hurry, its more for oldies etc

0 |

Croatia is class though.. I went fromn Dubrovnik up to Split ..awesome.

0 |

Croatia and head to Hvar, its a deadly wee port with plenty going on but you don't have to go mad if you don't want to. Fly to Dubrovnik and get express bus to split and ferry to Hvar. Was ther last year with the ex and one of the nicest places I've been to the only downside is the mega knobs

0 |

Rich knobs

0 |

the flights to croatia are outrageous prices from ireland etc, been checking there and there absolutley mental. it sounds really good

Malta was a pleasant surprise of a great holiday, exceedingly chep but really hot, friendly locals, great sightseeing and a shedload of booze.

x 2 on Croatia and Budapest as well though

0 |

Go diving in the redsea with a cheapy all inclusive to Hurghada or Sharm and take an overnight upto Cairo and stay in the Mena House right beside the Pyramids

0 |

San Diego is a great city. Would thoroughly recommend. laid back, great beaches, amazing food, bars, music scene, good shapping, easy to get around, 20 mins from Mexico.

0 |

decent flights to california are currently around 800 quid in the summer

Just back from a week on the island of pag in Croatia, absolutely incredible place . One side of the island is chilled and beautiful then short bus ride and I was in hideout festival. Hands down the best festival I've been at to date. Has no inspired me to look into booking an island hopping holiday the length of Croatia for next year including either hideout or dimensions into the trip . Couldn't recommend the country enough

I stopped over in Malta a few times. Some wee port town, didn't seem to be tourists about. it was fucking amazing. Super cheap. Although i got ripped off when exchanging dollars the first time. Nearly ten years ago now though.

Back to poland to fuck, i'll go too, leave the blade at home

Sardinia, Cape Verde and Croatia were top of my list, Was in Sharm El Sheikh last year and loved it.

Is Munich worth a visit??

0 |

Duffy you been to Geneva?

0 |

No but I wanted to go recently?! Did I mention that or what? Ended up in Edinburgh instead.

Might be heading away for a weekend in Dec and thinking maybe Munich. Thinking of the German Christmas markets :)

0 |

never been to Munich but if its anything like the rest of germany (what little ive seen on it) it'll be lovely around xmas...

0 |

Yeah defo. I didn't think much of Frankfurt a few years back when there for a few weeks but I loved going to the markets.

Think it looks lovely and the whole Bavarian beer malarkey must be good craic even outside of Oktobrefest?

0 |

Munich is nice six of us went there in Nov 2009. Christmas Markets are nice and the beer halls are brilliant,

We flew into Munich West with Ryanair from Dublin, the airport was 90mins from Munich and a torture to get out of. We went Sat to Monday and nothing happened on the Sunday night at all.

I would go back again.

0 |

surf lesson holiday?

each to their own but that sounds like a bit of a chore. having to get up early, and be somewhere at a certain time and do what you're told. sounds like work.

0 |

thanks for the info!

0 |

been to Munich about 4/5 times and it's well worth a visit. Great parks, shapping, inner city surfing (at the river), amazing beers, great middle eastern food, transport is brilliant.

Was in Stockholm for a few days last week and can't recommend it enough. Went for a 12 mile run round the city and was amazed at every turn. Good flights out of Dublin with Aer Lingus.

0 |

looks scary! think I'd rather surf at sea!

0 |

hey dudes, if you were getting free accommodation in Malta would you go??
Only thing stopping me is lack of leave this year & dunno if its worth it. I'd prob go for 3 nights though have been offered a week's say through friends...

0 |

blatant

0 |

whatever. wanna know is it worth taking a day off work for & paying flights aa week before I go on another hol! obv a free stay in someone's gaff is a plus. I know feck all about the place. It's not somewhere I'd ever thought of going

0 |

BLATANT

0 |

zzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

0 |

i agree

0 |

I'll go if you dont want to, Suzie.

0 |

you been Neil? saw u mentioning it another thread

0 |

No, was thinking about it as I had flights to use, but didn't end up going in the end. You could just go and totally relax for a couple of days, though I'm sure there are some decent things to do in the surrounding area.

0 |

I was in Malta a few years back, didn't think much of it. Seemed swamped with older London expats learning to Salsa by the beach. It's grand for a quiet holiday and a bit of a mosey round, but wouldn't hurry back.
