Just head down to McHughs Dee, have a few pints, sorted

Ticket bought for Skrillex.

Half tempted to go see Thin Lizzy as well.

Skrillex

0 |

madness, wish they would hurry up and announce the support

0 |

Skrillex Wayne? What are you at? There isn't a single act on any of the days that is good. Maybe Tom jones for a laugh but nothing more. It seems fairly obvious that the Point of belsonic now is to make money, which is fine from a business perspective but it's shit that one of northern Ireland's biggest music events has sold out and will now only cater to mindless sheep.

0 |

Forgot about madness, but surely they are past it anyway?

0 |

i think its a sign of the times tbh

they have alot of tickets to sell in really difficult times for a lot of people, so they have to go the lowest common denomintor route to make it feasible.

see Lockdown as proof of this

0 |

That's true, but it doesn't make it any less disappointing. I went to the first one with 2manydjs and it was class.

0 |

Could they not have reduced the days knowing tics would be so hard to shift in this climate? From what ive heard tics are not selling the best. Although that could be trunks

0 |

with what else is going on in belfast its going to be hard to selling all these out. Plus you have the EP which is following week, sign of the times, but there more chance of it being cancelled that tickets being reduced.

0 |

fewer days = less money though, which doesnt make sense

0 |

Not always Matt - 5 sold out days better than say 9 poorly attended ones.

0 |

But they were obviously aiming to sell out all 9 days, so went for a more commercial line up

0 |

and so the quality goes down

0 |

I know what they were aiming to do but a more cautious approach might have been better monetary wise.

0 |

Fewer days would make no odds as each night is aimed at different people anyway. It's not like if they cancelled Skrillex then loads of people would go see Noel Gallagher instead.

0 |

It actually would, surely some nights more likely to sell better than others, look at guetta. Also some of the acts have cross appeal, so may lose crowd there

0 |

I also reckon tales of poor ticket sales are probably exagerated. What it does for anyone personally here is irrelevant, I think it's a great line up and brilliant to have something like this in Belfast.

I mean, people bang on about how hard it is to sell tickets at the minute, but if you book the right acts, it'll sell. That Deadmau5 gig is good evidence for that.

0 |

I agree its a great thing, just wondering if theyve bitten off more than they can chew, hope not, noy my thing but gives loads of folk a good time

0 |

tennents vital must have poor ticket sales also, i expected the foo fighters to sell out within a day

0 |

I reckon each night will be well attended.

0 |

Is that the logic though? If it hasn't sold out... then ticket sales must be poor? Is that all we're basing this on?

0 |

Not going on whether sold out or not - just what im hearing and the obvious obstacle of people parting with their cash these days

0 |

What time do Belsonic Events usually end at? Just booked tickets for Skrillex and doors are 6pm. Midnight maybe?

0 |

I think its 11.

0 |

11 then kitten usually do after parties

0 |

Thanks guys

0 |

DAN!
.....

0 |

Tis a different line-up - who ever said it was aimed at a particular market? Was never listed as an electronic festival and tbf Pretty small place here, line up has qudos for wider market

0 |

Will there be belsonic afterparties like previous years at the stiff kitten does anyone know?

0 |

yes

0 |

So the afterparty for james morrison is cassy and phil kieran?

0 |

The afterparty for james morridon is trying to find a way home and it wont disappoint

0 |

Starts tomorrow, stage is looking good

Trying to tick all the boxes but very commercial. Madness would be a fair knees up, i guess. Tom Jones doesn't appeal, even though i have alot of respect for him. The rest of it would not be my bag at all.

0 |

skrillex like .. james morrison like ! holy fek

0 |

tom jones like , yes im going

0 |

Who's supporting madness anyone know yet?

0 |

is the custom house area going to be gridlocked this evening?

0 |

Last night

Felt really old at Skrillex

Dillon Francis bored me

Kill The Noise bored me

Knife Party bored me.

Really enjoyed Skrillex despite it being somewhat predictable.

Not much else to say really.

0 |

conclusion? you're old

0 |

Or that it was shite.

0 |

felt sorry for the troops last night, that weather was horrendous

0 |

I do like Skrillex though for some reason so probably would have enjoyed being surround by sweaty, wet young ladies.

0 |

Short shorts are getting shorter. Loads of wee slegs running round with their arse cheecks hanging the fuck out of them.

Age shouldn't matter, but last night it did. Wasn't so bad last time in the Mandella when it was a weekend and dark and I could blind fucking drunk.

Thing is, spent the whole weekend at a festival and not once did age cross my mind.

0 |

i was talking to my woman about that last night. The shorts are getting shorter than short. All shapes of wee girls wearing them too with big dunger holes and bellies hanging over the shorts. Rare as fuck.

0 |

Hardy sorts out on the ravenelli in that weather, respect for that.

0 |

Heard he displayed a Tricolour on one of the big screens and everyone started booing him!
