who's nominated for best front of house?

how could the London Olympic stadium be on this list? its the most bland generic looking stadium ive ever clapped eyes on

0 |

wouldn't mind seeing more pics of that rear extension.

can't quite make it out with the interior shots. a pic from the side would have been better

14 St George St and 50 New Bond St, London looks a bit like flatiron

I had a brief look there and saw fuck all I was interested in tbh

i think a lot of architecture tries too hard. a buildings primary function is to be functional, and it has to suit it's surroundings.

a lot of what i seen in this years university degree show imo didn't adhere to either of those.

a lot of the fancy stuff you see is actually horrible.

i like minimal designs a lot of the time.

really liking them old style houses you see popping up with the stone finish or brick finish, no verges and slated roofs. quite basic looking but i think they look quite well. maps.google.co.uk/maps... prob not the best example but only one i can think of. would prob bore other people to death tho.

nice area up there. could deff live up there.

was at the grad show in the art college, what a load of unimaginative balls.

looked like a load of people who wanted to bang out shite beige apartments and dull as fuck shopping centres in new towns.

Through a kind of architectural anthropomorphism, Henrique Oliveira reveals the building’s structure. At Palais de Tokyo, he plays on the space’s existing and structuring features, prolonging and multiplying pillars in order to endow them with a vegetable and organic dimension, as though the building were coming alive. The artist draws inspiration from medical textbooks, amongst others, and particularly from studies of physical pathologies such as tumors. Through a formal analogy, these outgrowths evoke the outermost layers of the bark of a common tree.

That's class, I'd love to have the money to create a building which was really entwined with the nature outside, but then had stuff like this on the inside. Proper 'another world' type of place.
